A First Love
Summertime is a time that causes me to especially reminisce upon my first love, Bill...that love was crucial. He's a constant thought on my mind - no matter the time, distance, space or season - but summertime especially makes me think sweet thoughts of him. Nothing could compare (in the earthly spectrum) to his lovely face, his touch, his rhythm. I simply adore him. How many of you can remember your first love?

Wonder Why They Call U Bitch
For some nowadays, specifically the female species, the word "bitch" has been adopted as a (sadly) a term of endearment. Recently, I had this argument with a few young female relatives whom proudly label themselves "bitch" as if it's some kind of badge or honor or right of passage. Like I told them, you can't expect respect from others when you don't even respect yourself. And you sure as hell can't get mad when someone calls you a bitch or treats you like one...and they have the audacity to proudly proclaim that they each want a "real" man. Well hell, a "real" man wants a "real" woman - not a bitch. Ladies, we have to get the class back in our act. We're Queens of this earth - not bitches. I believe that if we only knew our true power that we would then begin the journey to know ourselves. It's time out for taking two steps back instead of two steps forward in time. It's time to walk in the marvelous light instead of being lulled to sleep and walking around half dead. Let's get it!
This Is The Epitome of The Hip Hop Era
Who, besides me, had the drippy Jerri Curl...French Roll...and deep Finger Waves? If you were truly fresh to def, you weren't one of those that had all three at the same time! The Kangol hat, "Dookie" braids and chains, Adidas sneakers and track suits...man, those were the days of true Hip Hop! The battles between The Real Roxanne and Roxanne Shonte...Kurtis Blow...The Fat Boys (Human Beat Box), Break Dancing...Man! Back then, it was all about music that made you feel good and having a good time at the block and house parties. LL Cool J was making us feel it in his videos with the massive radio slung over his shoulder in the fresh videos...remember racing home after school to see that, along with all of the other latest cool videos that made you feel good and aspire to be a better you? Sure, you wanted to be like them, but knew that you couldn't. Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam was the bizness! The 69 Boys were brand new, along with the 95 South Boys. Everybody was down with OPP thanks to Naughty by Nature and 911 was a joke in your town...Flavor Flav!!! YoYo, MC Lyte, Queen Latifa...Luke Skywalker was the freak-a-leak! The Fat Boys' Human-Beat Box, Beastie-Boys' "Brass Monkey", Break Dancing and the like.
This Is My All Time Favorite Blues Song
This song takes me back to my childhood, perhaps my family would play it oftentimes around the house. Whenever I hear this song, it mellows me out and I reminisce.
The Best of The Blues
In Honor of legendary Blues crooner, the late Johnny Taylor (my all time favorite Blues singer), I'm gracing the blog with his presence today...enjoy!

Why Did He Do This To Her Song?!
No Sir, The Dream!!!...No Sir! I quote theybf.com - "Why in the flat, monotone boring hell did The Dream feel the need to veer away from the falsetto and remake Aaliyah's One In A Million? I repeat, The Dream...No Sir!!!

There Is A Disconnect
We have to have an honest discussion with ourselves about the moral pulse of our society. Either we do or don't want live responsibly. There is something wrong when we, as adults, take a back seat when there is a generation of young people that are living any kind of way and we take a nonchalant attitude about it...as if it's somebody else's problem. I do not support a lot of today's Hip Hop acts because, to me, they have raped the art aspects out of Hip Hop and left the industry bleeding with a black eye. If I had a young child in my home, I would not condone that child listening/looking at Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Rhianna or the like. There is something wrong with 7 year-old children emulating the sexual annotations like Beyonce. And coincidentally, isn't Beyonce the same one that the President of the United States chose to headline his inauguration dance and the First Lady allowed her two young daughters to attend the concert of? People...let's wake up!!! Billy Ray Cyrus has come out and publicly defending his daughter, Miley, doing a publicized lap dance. In fact, it was reported that he said that, "that's what girls her age do". That's crazy! It has also been reported that his younger daughter, a 10 year-old, is slated to debut a children's lingerie line and his wife is delighted about that?! We can't continue to facilitate the moral decay and expect to leave it for "somebody" else to clean up as if we have absolutely no responsibility in any of this madness. No...we can't have it both ways. It's either going to be "holiness" or hell...bottom line. I think that the reason why most adults aren't stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility to guide and direct today's youth is because deep down inside, they are part of the problem. Deep down inside, they like the vulgarity and decay.

Hip Hop Really Is Dead!
Christina Aguilera Lets Nicki Minaj Licky Licky Kissy Kissy All Over Her “WooHoo”!!!
It was Hip Hop artist, Nas, who said it best: "Hip Hip Is Dead". And if the scene and sound of the current slow decline of the Hip Hop industry is any indication of what he said is true...this is the longest funeral procession ever! I've "had it up to here" with the raunchiness garbage that has continued to bombard the Hip Hop industry. It's not music and lacks a whole lot of talent in my opinion...it's nothing more than porn.
I open a popular blog page this morning and what do I see? Rhianna's tired and broken down crotch staring back at me. Only this time, she has a microphone stuck between her legs and simulating a sexual, gyrating act on stage...and ppl paid to see that mess?! She's gone from grabbing it to sticking foreign objects towards it...no class at all!
But she's no worse than most ppl's so-called "golden child", Beyonce, who grabbed her own crotch like some dude while performing at the Grammy's not too long ago. These "artists" (if that's what their called) look and sound like a bunch of garbage and ppl are going for it...geez. Soldier Boy, Drake, this "Wacka Flacka" character, Nikki Minaje, Lil' Mama and the list just goes on and on...I'm going Country...I can't take this anymore!!!

Riot Ensues After Arizona Practices Another Racist Ode By Passing Prejudice Bill!
Riot Ensues After Arizona Practices Another Racist Ode By Passing Prejudice Bill!
Here's a suggestion...Profile and escort all of these naturalized citizens that don't want to do anything but harm other citizens...deport THOSE people. Most Mexicans, generally, don't want to do anything but work and take care of their families. What is so wrong with that? It boils down to hate and prejudice. So much of America has been built on the backs and sweat of those people...and now America wants to show them the door? In my opinion, that's close as it gets to the epitome of cruel and unusual punishment. Why not grant these people their citizenship, especially if they've already been in this country five to ten years or longer, have proved themselves, haven't committed any crimes, have contributed to the economy and have a clean background? This is nothing short of when the Jews had to wear stars back in the day. America...Let's move forward instead of continuously taking a few steps back.

Why Can't Successful Black Women Find A Man?
There have been many disscussions most recently relating to the panel discussion on Nightline and has a lot of Blacks and African Americans, especially, heated...
The real issue, or The Bottom Line, is "Saving The Black Family" as Hill Harper mentioned. The other male panelist mentioned that if we, as black women and men, are to find a "good" man or woman - we have to be that in which we are looking for. There are so many men that don't even look, sound or feel like "real men" anymore and the same can be said for a whole lot of women.
So many have become fed up and frustrated as a result of a lack of trust, cheating, non compromising partners and other reasons - which has led men (and women) to resort to developing intimate relationships with same sex partners, giving up hope, lowering their standards, dating outside of their race, opting for simple (and multiple) "booty calls", choosing to become so-called "Cougars" and "Sugar Daddies" and abstinance/celibacy altogether.
Let me say this: So many women and men have settled for "whatever" and have no standards when it comes to dating. They don't respect themselves and don't demand respect from their significant others, which has meant that "meaningful" relations have become insignificant over time. There are so many people out there that can have sex like dogs without having to respect their partner, be committed, love, nurture, care, build, be devoted and so forth with absolutely no strings attached.
The Bottom Line is that the present dating and marital circumstances that so many of us presently face are simply the end result of a society that has facilitated a lack of moral responsibility. We've opted to build our lives around bustling jobs and the lack of men in most homes, glorifying female independence (when that is out of the natural order of God), along with single family households that are broken and dysfunctional - along with accessive partying, drugs and drinking - that has altogether stripped the woman of her virtue and the man of his manhood.

Mr. Big Is Home!
Well known recording artist, Ron Isley of the legendary music group The Isley Brothers, is finally home after a lengthy imprisonment. You know him best for classic tunes such as Busted, Contagious, Between The Sheets, Just Came Here To Chill, What Would You Do and countless of other musical hits. Wasting no time to give us what we like, Ron Isley is slated to perform May 8th, 2010 in Atlantic City and May 9th, 2010 at the legendary Paradise Theater in the Bronx, NY. What a fantastic Mother's Day gift this would make for some special someone.

"They Check'N In" - Airport Security Parody
Check out this great YouTube parody relating to airport security...
"Confessions of an Airport Screener"
"Confessions of an Airport Screener" has released. Wow, what an accomplishment, right? The official launching debut will be around or about Summer 2010. The initial reviews are in and it has been well received. Yes, there are many typos and there are plans to correct those and phase them as the launching progresses. The book is high in volume and after reviewing it after its much anticipated release, the author does realize that this could have been minimized...oh well...tisk, tisk.
There has been, allegedly, a "special committee" formed to study the book from cover to cover to supposedly detect any SSI that the book may contain. This is a pointless witch hunt, one that is no more than an excuse to manipulate and attempt to attack the author...but God.
Many are angry after having read bits and parts of the book's contents. Why? Because the truth hurts - especially when the truth is in black and white and having been placed on front street for all the world to see. As the old adage goes: whatsoever is done in the dark is bound to come to light.
A parody relating to airport security, "They Check'N In" has hit YouTube and it is HIGHlarious!
